You have been interviewing an applicant for a production line opening. The applicant seems to have all the necessary KSAs to do the job, and you feel like he will be one of the three candidates you call back in for a second interview. As you are about to close the interview, he informs you that, if hired, he intends to encourage his co-workers to form a union.

This is something that may actually have a huge impact on the organization or may not be considered as very important and generally this depends on the culture of the organization. If an organization and it's employees are mutually satisfied and they do not feel the need of an Union, then it is something very important and effective. If an employee on the very first day plans to form an Union although the need is not important then personally I will not hire such an individual because the primary objective of an employee should be towards work and not unionizing from the very first instance.
