In lab we synthesized triphenylmethanol using grignard reagent (phenylmagnesium bromide) from methyl benzoate.

Methyl Benzoate: 0.250 mL

3.0 mL of 3.0 M phenylmagnesium bromide

Dry Ether: 1.0 mL from instructor

3 M HCl: 2.0 mL

product weight: 0.310 g (triphenylmethanol)

I am having trouble determining percent yield and theoretical yield.
