Class: global Marketing
Why is it necessary for managers to understand global marketing issues? How would this apply to your current job or one that you are seeking (or preparing for after graduation)?
Answer: Global marketing differs from the domestic marketing in a number of ways. There are many factors like the difference in political, legal, cultural, social, economic and technological environment between different countries. Similarly the factors like difference in the industry dynamics and the human resource management make the global business environment complex. Therefore a global manager needs to understand the complexities and issues like differences between the countries for developing suitable marketing strategies at the international level. If a manager does not understands the issues involved in the global marketing there are remote chances that he may succeed.
This is relevant for my future job as world is becoming more and more globalized. In such conditions, the companies and the workplaces are also becoming global and the employees are getting opportunities to go aboard in various parts of the world. Also even in the domestic assignments, the employees have to work with people from different nationalities. Hence this makes understanding of the global marketing issues important for all individuals who are looking for a career in marketing including myself.
