As a result of earth's warming over the past 100+ years, plants have been growing at a faster rate. Because plants absorb CO2, the increase in plant growth means that more CO2 is being absorbed from the atmosphere by plants.

Is the plant growth example a positive feedback, negative feedback, or does it have nothing to do with feedbacks? Explain why.

Answer #1

Answer)

A positive feedback is something in which increase in one factor leads to increase in the other factor while negative feedback is one in increase in one factor leads to decrease in other factor.

In the above case, since increase in plant growth leads to decrease in CO2. Hence the above scenario is of negative feedback.

Hope this helps you !!!
