The ethical issues at the workplace are those that required evaluating as a right that is ethical or it can be wrong that is unethical. The ethical issues include cash and incentives, discrimination with the employees, privacy, health, and safety, as well as internal misunderstanding.

The public manager who deals with the contractors and with regulations of private-sector activities have to deal with the above ethical issues, with the employees he has to be very tolerant. He should show no discrimination with the employees because the employees are more concern with their job and earnings, the public manager should act without prejudice and discrimination so that he can win the faith of his employees, he has to be honest in dealing with his employees. He has to be very tactful in his dealings as he is a public manager who has to deal with the contractors, as well as the employees.

Case:

For example, a small shop is opened that serve the local food and coffee, the employees are the local people, and a contractor is also a local person. The public manager has to be tolerant and avoid misunderstandings.

This shop ran for a year and then closed down because the contractor was demanding more money from the shop owner and shop owner was not in a position to give extra money. The prices of the items that were served was less compared to other places, the ingredients were local and it was like a homemade food, his food was in good demand and people used to enjoy his food he had good profitable running business his employees were also happy with him because he was paying them incentives and a decent pay. When the contractor saw the flourishing business he demanded extra money.

With extra payment to the contractor he could not make a good profit to run his business smoothly, he started making losses in the business and his workers started leaving the job, ultimately he had to shut down the shop. These private-run businesses have their own rules they are not governed by rues like corporate sectors. While in the case of the contractor and private sector activities, there are no such rules except the contract and that can be revoked on expiry, the public manager is more on the mercy of contractors.

A corporate business has its own rules and regulation and employees have to adhere to those rules, while in case of the contractor and private- sectors, it is the rules and regulations of the contractor or private owner, if they want to keep an employee they would keep him, otherwise throw him out of the service. and business.
