Indigenous religion can be defined as the local or regional traditional religion beliefs and practices. Here indigenous means native, the native religion originates from particular region.

There are many common characteristics of indigenous religions. The people with indigenous religion believe on their own god and live their life on their own principles. The indigenous religions evolved in their close surroundings and talk more about spirit. They have their own rituals and trends which they follow with full faith and confidence. Their beliefs are on man being created and relationship with the creator. They respect all living things whether it's human or non human(animal). As per indigenous religion nature and animal also have feelings and spirit. They also sacrifice when human world needs a favour from spirit world. They also trust on superstitious things, to which science believe as only a myth.
