Organizational environment refers to the factors that surround an organization and environmental domain refer to the variables that influence environmental objectives

An organizational environment consists of institutions or forces that surrounds an organization which affect the performance, its operations, and the resources. Its elements exist outside the organizations boundaries and affect the organization such as government regulatory agencies and competitors.

Environmental domain refers to the framework for which the environmental objectives can be defined. They include the air domain. The atmosphere, the fresh water domain, the land domain and the marine domain.
