Greetings Sherri,

After your request for ideas to attract future employees, I researched other companies and I am submitting the following suggestions. Because higher education, families, and volunteering are important; we should implement these ideas into our benefit package for new employees. Here are some suggestions from other businesses we could consider:

Hilton

• Provides employees with family medical leave.

• Gives performance bonuses.

• Offers tuition assistance.

• Provides paternity and maternity leave.

Cisco

• Gives an annual bonus.

• Provides tuition reimbursement for accredited programs.

• Gives employees’ their birthday off with pay.

• Gives their employees up to five days off with pay to volunteer for a cause that matters to them.

I believe we should consider these suggestions for our company. We should provide maternity and paternity leave. This is a benefit many companies offer in today’s business. We could also offer a type of tuition reimbursement that regards moving up in our company. We could provide an annual bonus and offer a day with pay on employees’ birthday. Volunteering is important to our company, I think we should offer a volunteer day quarterly to employees who wish to participate.

Our business can be more competitive if we implement these suggestions. Are you free to talk about these suggestions at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9?

We had discussed the need to generate new ideas to attract employees in the future. I have put some thought in the matter. I have also studied the policies of other organizations. My recommendations include around the following main parameters:

  • Improve work life balance policies to create more family time like flexi hours to handle family issues
  • Include benefits to support higher education of the employees
  • Provide the employees opportunity and time to participate in volunteering.

Some additional suggestions from other businesses that I found we could consider and implement in the compensation package of future employees are as follows:

At Hilton, the employees are given following additional benefits:

  • Family medical leave is provided which allows them to be with the family at time of medical emergencies.
  • The employees are given Performance bonuses which motivates them to put in more efforts.
  • Offers tuition assistance to take care of education expenses.
  • Provides paternity and maternity leave, which eases the stress and lets them welcome the child in the family comfortably.

At Cisco, the employees get the following benefits:

  • An annual bonus to give a boost in the income and to plan for a big purchase at the point.
  • Provides tuition reimbursement for accredited programs.
  • Employees get their birthday off and can enjoy it with their family and friends
  • The employees get 5 days off to participate in a volunteer program of their choice.

To summarize my suggestions we can consider the following for our employees:

  • Maternity and paternity leave this helps to make people feel easy and comfortable when welcoming new member in the family
  • Support the employees with tuition reimbursement which will help them grow in the organization.
  • Annual bonus to give a special boost and a sum of money which could help them plan special purchases.
  • A day off on birthday off with full salary to enjoy with family and friends
  • Offer time to participate in volunteering activities

This will help us get a competitive advantage and we will be able to attract more suitable and qualified work force. We can discuss this matter in detail when you are free. Please advise your availability at 10:00 am on Tuesday April 9.
