Discuss some of the advantages of using a between-subjects design. (At least 100 words)

Between Subjects Design:

An experiment which have different subjects/participants for control group and experiment group is called Between subjects Design. In this experiment we randomly selects participants from population. We randomly assign those participants to control group and experiment group. We gives treatment to experiment group and we don't give treatment to control group. We manipulates independent variable and measures dependent variable. We conducts statistical test on dependent variable data and draws conclusions.

Advantages of between- subjects design:

• We pickup subjects for experiments randomly from population. So we can overcome sampling bias
• We assign subjects randomly for both experiment group and control group. So we can feel confident about equivalency of groups.
• We are controlling confound variables by using laboratory. So internal validity will be high.
• We can build cause and effect relation between variables. Because we observing dependent variable while manipulating independent variable.
• We can overcome participant effect and experiment effect by using double blind experiment.
• We make sure about external validity because we will generalize our findings based on selected sample from population.
• We will use t test and ANOVAs to draw conclusions. Those tests have both validity and reliability.
