The narrator is both the protagonist and antagonist in "The Tell-Tale Heart." The narrator is the protagonist since he has an objective, to annihilate the elderly person's eye, and the story rotates around him and this objective. He is likewise the antagonist since his blame is the principle reason that his arrangement didn't work superbly.
