The culture, language, and religion a person is surrounded by are three very important parts of their identity. I belong to a hindu family. Hindus are considered as very religious people who perform all the festivities and rituals associated with God and his kindness. These things take us a step ahead and try to carve a map for us to be united by the people in our community. I love the fact that doing these chores gives me peace and takes me a step ahead to god. I feel near to him and there is no greed or desire left in me. This is something which calms me down day in and out. I have enjoyed this peace for a long time now. But I do not want people to consider us as only Yogis or a cult group that does nothing. I want them to treat us as normal people who care for the wellness of others also.
