1) Dispersion of light refers to the splitting of white light in various components with the help of a dispersing device ( like prism ). This splitting occurs due to difference in refractive index for different colors. Due to this difference some colors travel more distance than others and colors bend at the edge (because of refraction) by different amount.

Therefore Dispersion occur due to bending of different color by different amount.

2) Resolving power is the ability to distinguish between two objects clearly. Resolving power is limited by the angular size ratio of object's size with distance, which is also known as differection limit.

Therefore resolving Powe of eye is limited by differection.
