Answer #1

Grendel's friendship with Hrothgar is one of hate; Grendel loathes God's festivities at Heorot. Although Beowulf and Hrothgar had no personal relationship before Beowulf came to slay Grendel, Hrothgar knew Beowulf's uncle, admired him, and believed Beowulf would help save Heorot. The Beowulf author describes Grendel as a creature cast out of men's vision. Grendel stirs as Hrothgar builds Heorot and the men gather to enjoy their festivals and stories.

One of utter hatred is the friendship between Hrothgar and Grendel at Beowulf. In order to celebrate God and his strength, Hrothgar created a mead hall, Heorot. On the other side, Grendel hates Satan. His frustration arises from the fact that, despite his ancestors ' sins, he is in exile.
Therefore, Grendel (a representation of God in the epic tale) can not come into the light. That said, Grendel is a night creature and only comes out after God's light has "set." After hearing God's singing and praising, Grendel is furious and decides to take Hrothgar and his people out of his wrath.

Grendel joins Heorot and kills a lot of people. Hrothgar is so grieved that Heorot's doors are closed. Grendel doesn't return after the party ends.
It is not until Beowulf arrives at Heorot, after learning about the "abuse" of Hrothgar, that Grendel is again becoming a threat. Beowulf ordered the reopening of the mead hall. Hrothgar binds and that night Grendel is murdered.
Hrothgar and Grendel are practically mortal enemies, provided that Hrothgar worships God, and Grendel hates Satan.

Hrothgar is the King of the Danes, while Grendel is his tormentor, thinking himself a creature of the house of Cain and cursed by God. Hrothgar decides to build a mead hall that he calls Herot after winning several wars. He designed this building to praise God and his people as they supported him in his many conquests. He kept his people's festivities in Herot before Grendel started attacking the mead house, killing everyone in sight. Grendel continued to kill the warriors of Hrothgar every night until the people left the mead house, bringing much sorrow to Hrothgar. The condition lasted for twelve years as no fighter was able to defeat Grendel and the beast eventually moved into the hall and slept there each night.
