One of the biggest sources of error in any chemical laboratory experiment is due to contamination. In order to reduce this source you should NEVER do the following:
a. Dispense a small amount of the reagent into a beaker. From this beaker, measure out the desired amount of reagent.
b. Dispose of your excess reagent properly. Never put it back into the reagent bottle.
c. Take the reagent bottle to the electronic balance and use a spatula to get the chemical out when measuring mass
d. Before using any glassware, clean with soap and water then rinse thoroughly.
