N,S,E,W stands for North, South, East, West respectively in the above figure.

Vp = 127 km/h represents the velocity of plane in the given direction.

Vw = 38 km/h represents velocity of wind in the given direction.

If V1 and V2 are two vectors with an angle between them, the magnitude of resultant of these vectors( R ) is given as:

  

Therefore the magnitude of resultant velocity( V ) of velocities Vp and Vw is:
