Metacognition is about higher order thinking skills.wecwere often taught this in school as tricks to memorize lengthy concepts. The high school grade children should be taught these techniques.

I would demonstrate mnemonics. In this technique one just removers the first alphabet of point and thus make a chain of all other points.

Another techniques can be putting it into practical way such as conducting a scientific experiment so that students can easily write what they have observed.
