2. It helps to maintain liquid liquid junction potential

For maintaing liquid liquid junction potential the ionic mobilities of the cations and anions of electrolyte which is kept in salt brigde should be same for this the size of cation and anion should be comparable….KCl fits into this example, so we use it..
