Revolutionary Innovation.
Then choose one and apply to a specific situation. What are the
positives? What are the
challenges? Which is the most prevalent in your
organization/industry? Why?
Answer
✓ the selected Innovation is "sustaining Innovation". It refers to innovation that remains for decades and keep on improving and updating the products, through new features, updates, etc.
The advantage of this Innovation is that, it is easier to implement, because, there will be an extension or upgradations to the existing one, or a similar, but more advanced devices will be bought, replacing the old one, with the same line. This helps to bring necessary changes easily, train the employees in a way that help them get familiar with it quickly and to keep on growing.
But, the challenges with this is that, it is not always easy to upgrade and to implement the changes. Sustaining Innovation may become outdated when no advancements are made or no new features can be added.
✓ in my organisation, sustaining Innovation is most prevalent because, it keeps the firm up to date and help it to bring advancements with the similar line of products. Say for example: computer systems. Almost every worker or employees are familiar with computer system in my firm, and when a new and more functional computer is launched or a laptop is launched or any tablets (handy computer) are easier to be used, our management brings it and make the employees learn how to operate it with necessary software settings. This keeps the business effective, and make the employees competitive.
