Answer. According to the psychodynamic theory our personality is divided into three components if , ego and superego. If is based on the pleasure principle. It aims to seek pleasure . Superego works on morality principle. Who works on reality principle. It guides both ud and superego and acts as a medium between the two. According to this theory our unconscious processes like dreams, unresolved issues, fears , drives and fantasies guide our behaviour and personality.
For example a traumatic event in childhood can lead to obsessive hand washing in adulthood. Skin picking can be linked to a trauma during the development period.
