There is a brick sample which has 6*11*23 cm
dimensions. The dry weight of the brick sample is 2400 g and the
water satured weight in air after 24 hours is 2800 g. The stone was
ground and selved from 74 selve. The volume of 50 g of its powder
was measured by picnometer as 17.5cm3
a) Find the apparent specific gravity
b) Find the Specific gravity
c) Find the Porosity
d) Find the Compacity
e) Find the Water absorption, by weight and volume
d) Find the Saturation Degree
At first, we will determine the weight of the same volume of water for the calculation of apparent specific gravity. Then we will calculate the bulk specific gravity. After that, we will determine the porosity.
