Help with the Empirical Rule?

I'm trying to do something regarding the empirical rule.

If my question was: A university class has on average 100 students show up every day for class. What would the 68-95-99.7 rule imply? Could I even try using the 68-95-99.7 rule or is too vague? Trying to compute 1,2, and 3 standard deviations. Any help?
