The pka for caffeine is 10.4 and for ethyl acetate is 25.

Ethyl acetate is a ester, hence its pka is very large.

A zero percent yield means reaction is not taking place. A reaction which is unable to take place gives zero percent yield.

% yield = (Amount of product formed / Theoretical yield) x 100

Thus, amount of product formed will be zero.
