a) total heat input

total heat input = 0.650 * 900 * (100 - 50) + 2 * 4186 * (100 - 50) + 0.80 * 2260 *10^3

total heat input = 2255850 J

the total heat input is 2255850 J = 538.9 Kcal

the total heat input is 538.9 Kcal

b) let the time taken is t

Power * t = total heat input

550 * t = 2255850

t = 4101 s

the time taken is 4101 s
