Other colonies outside the Massachusetts Bay were setup by pilgrims and people of England who had left England to seek religious freedom and lead better and free lives without any fear or boundation. These people were less advanced than those in the Massachusetts Bay area but were seeking something more than money i.e. religious freedom and preserving their cultural identities.
