Suppose your lab instructor inadvertently gave you a sample of KHP contaminated with NaCl to use in standardizing your NaOH. How would this affect the molarity youcalculated for your NaOH solution? Justify you answer.

this will cause the molarity of NaOH is higher than its real value.
MNaOH = MKHP* VKHP/ VNaOH

when you use the contaminated KHP to make a solution of KHP, its real concentration will be low than what you calculated. it means you need use moreimpure KHP (though you didn't realize it, you think it is pure) to titrate NaOH sample. The VKHPvalue will be bigger,while MKHPand VNaOHhave not been affected by this contamination. As a result, MNaOHbecome biggerthan its real value.
