If anyone is busy to taking the particalular service and other customer/unit is comes for getting that particular system , he/she/it has to wait until the first customers gets the service . This forms a Queue . & Such situation is called Queueing System .
If time required for getting particular system is greater than the time required for arriving new customer in the system the a queue is form
Calling population : A population from which customers/ units are arriving in the queue for getting particular service is called calling population .
Server : The particular station that provides the service is called Server
there will be one or more than one server
Capacity of Queue : Maximum no. of customers/units can be given a paricular service is called as capacity of queue.
Queue decipline :
1) FIFO ( First In First Out ) : In this decipline , The customer arrive first in the system gets the service first and he can leave the system first
2) LIFO ( last In First Out ) : In this decipline , The customer arrive last in the system gets the service first and he can leave the system first
3) Random in Random out : In this method , the unit chosen without specific rule . This decipline is use in emergency conditions only.

Explain how you can view each of the following systems as a queueing system. In particular, determine the calling population, the item that enters the system, the servers, the nature of the service, the capacity of the queue, and the queue discipline. 1. A Supercuts (haircut) store 2. A parking lot 3. A fire station 4. A group of machines assigned to an operator for maintenance 5. A supercomputer shared among researchers of a university Fill in the table to...
