How many lb of manure can you apply given the lb of sorghum-sudan removed from the field (Q5), the concentration of P in the forage (Q5), and the concentration of P in the manure(Q5)?

Solution -

Let the area be 1 acre

Forage = 7.7 dT

Percentage P in forage = 0.45 %

Percent P in manure = 1.05 %

Amount of manure = x

amount of P in forage = amount of P in manure

7.7 * 0.45 /100 = x * 1.05 /100

x = 3.3 dT

the amount of manure is 3.3 dT

If dT is decitonne, then 1 dt = 220.46223302272 lbs

i.e., 727.53 lb

If dT is dry ton, then more information will be needed. but for calculation sake. (1 ton = 2000 lb)

6600 lbs.
