1.A silicon chip is prepared with synthetic single stranded DNA with a known sequence that correspond to a partial sequence of specific gene.
2.mRNA is extracted from cells for which gene expression is being studied.
3.cDNA is synthesised by Reverse transcriptase.
4. Complimentary DNA binds to the microarray.
5. Fluorescent cDNA is allowed with the synthetic DNA.
6. Unbound cDNA is washed away and the remaining DNA is examined under UV light.
Arrange the steps in creating and using a DNA microarray in order from beginning to end. Start wi...
Steps of microarray analysis Place the steps of DNA microarray analysis in the correct order. Hybridize cDNAs in microarray Place in scanner Interpret fluorescent spots Wash away unbound cDNAs Isolate desired mRNA Make labeled cDNA
Tissue-specific microarray analysis facilitates the comparison
of gene expression in different tissues. In order to prepare a
sample for microarray analysis, messenger RNA (mRNA) is extracted
from a particular tissue, reverse transcribed to generate
complementary DNA (cDNA), and labeled with a fluorescent probe.
The microarray below shows comparison of gene expression in
stomach and intestinal tissues. The cDNA from stomach tissue was
labeled with red fluorescent probes, whereas the cDNA from the
intestinal tissue was labeled with green fluorescent probes....
