This question is asking for your opinion.  There is no right or wrong answer.  I’m looking for your use of economic thought, critical thinking, and depth of analysis.

Are Microsoft and Google Monopolies? If so, should we apply the anti-trust regulations against them? (essentially breaking them up) Why or Why Not?

micro soft and google are not monopolies because according to the characterists of monopoly firms, there must be a single supplier of goods with no close substitute available but in this case there are many softwre available as substitutes to microsoft and also many search engine available as substitute to google. microsoft and google have acquired largest market shares but are not monopolies so breaking them up will not be a very good option. these two have acquired the market share because of the service provided by them and not by any other means. so any anti trust regulation will be unfair.
