The Waterfall model is also known as Linear sequential life cycle model. It consists of following stages

  • Requirement Analysis
  • System Design
  • Implementation
  • Testing
  • Deployment and
  • Maintenance

It is very clearly structure like a water falling from high. First we gather all the requirements then we move to system design. After this we go for the implementation, then we will test the software for quality purpose. After fixing all the bugs and bug free software we will deploy at client and then we finally move for maintenance.

All these steps are well structured which will help us in identifying the bugs if there are any from the model. Only after all the input and necessary details are fulfilled then only we move move on to the next phase or stage. In this model no phases are overlapped.

In this model, the requirements are

  • Very well documented
  • There will be stability in the product
  • Technology is easily understandable
  • There will be no ambiguity in the requirements
  • Easy to develop
  • Milestones will be set easily
  • Development can be moved only after fixing the previous milestone bugs
  • Very simple and easily understandable
  • Managing the product becomes easy
  • Tasks are arranged easily
  • All the process and results are very well documented.
