Answer #1

DW statistic is 1.5=d

We know that

d=2(1-¶)

Where ¶= correlation coefficient

1.5=2(1-¶)

0.75=1-¶

¶=0.25

Therefore correlation coefficient is 0.25

Ans b)

If error term is heteroskedastic then standard error is incorrect Standard error = Standard deviation / sqrt(sample size) that means we get biased estates

In calculation of t statistic we divide sample estimate by standard error and standard errors are biased hence obtained t values are not correct

Hence statement is False.

    What does a correlation coefficient of 0 indicate? Choose the correct answer below. O A. There is no linear relationship between the two quantitative variables. O B. There is a weak relationship between the two quantitative variables. O C. It indicates a calculation error, as the correlation coefficient cannot be 0. O D. There is a strong relationship between the two quantitative variables. O E. It indicates a non-linear relationship between the two quantitative variables.

    Assume that the correlation coefficient between achievement test scores (X) and grade point averages (Y) among a simple random sample of 34 first grade students is 0.52. Then, we can conclude that approximately 27% of the variance in grade point averages is explained by achievement test scores. Note, the statistic referenced in the previous sentence is the coefficient of determination, aka R-squared. True False
