A temperature sensor based WSN node provides an output of 10 mV to 210 mV over its operating range. Develop a signal conditioning circuit so that the output becomes 0 V to 3.3 V for the operating range. The circuit should offer very high input impedance.

Answer:

This signal conditioning can be done in two op-amp stages. First we subtract an offset to 10mV. So the raw signal range is from 0 to 200mV. Then we amplify this signal using a non-inverting amplifier of gain 16.5 (0.2 * 16.5 = 3.3V).

This circuit is shown in the image below:

The 10mV signal can be generated using a multi-turn potentiometer.

The gain of second stage is give by 1+ 10000/645 = 16.5

As the circuit consists of op-amp, it offers high input impedance by design.
