This is lab report for identification of hydrocarbon. I have my data for hydrocarbon but i don't know how to explain for question 1. Can u help me with it? And i will attcah the table 1 for possible hydrocarbon.

The boiling point range 79-81 oC indicates that the unknown hydrocarbon boils at (79+81)/2 = 80 oC, which exactly matches to the boiling point of 2,4-dimethyl pentane.

Hence, the unknown hydrocarbon is 2,4-dimethyl pentane.
