Ans.) In the first scenario, the mistake is unintentional which can be corrected. In such cases, self realization is more important. If a person realizes his mistake then it will be easier to rectify it. In this situation, ethics are not compromised because you recognize your mistake.

In second scenario, you must have to rearrange the tray with other instrument.If there is a time constrain, then you can ask other hospital staff for the sterilized equipment and also inform the doctor. The doctor will definitely help you and give a solution. But if you set the tray with contaminated instrument, it is ethically and morally wrong. Because in doing so you risk the chance of infection to the patient which may become fetal.

(A delayed surgery is far better than surgery with infected instrument. In such situation, one must think ethically.)
