Answer #1

Answer:

Let x be the one of the cars that is no rented

Let the total rent be (10+x) per day

Then number of cars rented = 24 - x

Income generated = (10 + x ) * (24 - x)

Differentiate this equation and equate it to zero

Income = -(10 + x) + 24 –x

-10 - x + 24 - x

-2X + 14 = 0

X = 14/2

x = 7

So for a rent of 10+7 = 17 maximum income is generated.

The charge to maximize income is 17
