Answer #1

Answer: People get older and also their ability to see things clearly get decreased with the age. The nurse should intervene properly to these patients as they need much care while mobility.

  • If the patient is admitted in the hospital then nurse should not unnecessarily move the patient's belongings. If items are moved, let them know their new location.
  • Always inform the patient before performing any procedure as it can be bad for the patient to be touched without warning.
  • If the care is being given at home then while introducing the patient to a new area, nurse should walk with them and locate the place and let him touch the walls or the things this helps them learn distances and pick up sensory cues, so next time they can make the trip independently.
  • Always keep pathways and corridors clear of obstacles where possible and inform the patient so that they may not fall or get hurt.
