It is important if parenteral route is opt for medication, the medicine is to be dissolved in isotonic solution. Isotonic solution have osmolarity close to extracellular cells. Hypertonic solution will create high osmotic pressure and allow fluid to pull out of the cells and hypotonic can cause swelling of the cells. Therefore, isotonic solution is most suitable to dissolve the medicines.
