3. What is it that all sexual desires have in common, according to Jacobsen? And why is his theory not an ‘object-based’ theory?
**Please read the question carefully** thanks
I feel sexuality is a complex affair, where the biological, psychological, and social factors all play a role in determining and shaping it in every person. They are for activities that are taken to affect states of sexual arousal in certain ways. But unlike sexual arousal, phenomenal attraction cannot be assuaged so there are no activities that can satisfy phenomenal attraction-based sexual desires. This answers the fact that sexual activities are so varied and numerous, and possibly how so many activities are able to affect sexual arousal. His theory is a feature based approach. He said that not everyone desires to touch each other's body so calling it object based does not quite fit in. He felt the best way to explain the desires were with arousal. It is not narrow and does not refer to only satiating sexual arousal. Then it is also a feature based account and it is possible that we love some feature like voice in someone and may be body in the other.
