1a) Plot the fluorescence intensity that describes the striation pattern along the horizontal direction. (You may use a single horizontal line along the image). Note that the pattern is periodic. The horizontal axis of your plot should be in microns.

1b) Plot the Fourier magnitude spectrum (absolute value of the FFT) of the fluorescence intensity that you plotted in a. Label the horizontal axis of your plot in μm-1, or cycles per micron. You may approximately determine the sampling rate (microns / pixel) from the scale bar.
1c) Average the Fourier magnitude spectra for 10 consecutive horizontal lines (being sure not to exceed the bounds of the myocyte in either the vertical or horizontal directions). Plot the average magnitude spectrum, and label the horizontal axis in μm-1. Determine the spatial frequencies for the fundamental and second harmonic for the (approximately) periodic sarcomere striation pattern.
1d) Based on your answer to c, determine the sarcomere length.
