A recent legal case regarding Internet-related intellectual property is by TikTok, an app for creating and sharing videos online. Tiktok filed a complaint against HuoPai , a video sharing platform that reposted video content created by TikTok video creators on its video sharing platform backed by Baidu. Since Baidu backed Huopai had deleted the content soon, it was not asked to pay the compensation claimed by TikTok but the Beijing Internet court directed that the content is protected by copyright laws and any infringement is punishable as per law. The content was soon removed so the court ruled no infringement of copyright laws by Baidu but said that the videos irrespective of their length are protected by copyright protection laws.
