Describe the systemic and pulmonary circuits, including gas exchange
(a) Pulmonary circuit:-
- it refers to the circulation of blood in which deoxygenated which
blood is pumped from the heart to the lungs and oxygenated blood is
returned to back to the heart.
- it only occurs between the heart and the lungs.
(b) Systemic circuit:-
- it refers to the circulation of blood in which oxygenated blood
is pumped from the heart to the body and deoxygenated blood is
returned back to the heart.
- it occurs between the heart and the entire body.

Describe the systemic and pulmonary circuits, including gas exchange
Create YOUR OWN flow chart/diagram showing the circulatory circuits -both systemic and pulmonary circuits. Your flow chart/diagram should include one complete "cycle" through the whole body. As a reference, BEGIN with blood leaving your TOE and going towards the heart.

List the factors that affect pulmonary gas exchange besides partial pressure gradients
Name UNIT 11 Quiz continued Section Date 5 High pressure in the systemic and pulmonary circuits often results in ventricular hypertrophy, in which the ventricle enlarges to pump against greater force. Which side(s) of the heart would be affected by high pressure in the pulmonary circuit? Which side(s) of the heart would be affected by high pressure in the systemic circuit? Explain. 6 Ms. F. visited her physician for a routine physical. During the exam, she explained that over the...
