Answer #1

1) The balanced equation is:

2 Mg + O2 = 2 MgO

0.15 mol of MgO are produced per mol of Mg.

2) Fe moles are calculated:

n Fe = 2.5 mol Fe2O3 * (4 mol Fe / 2 mol Fe2O3) = 5 mol Fe

3) The mass of CO2 is calculated:

m CO2 = 1.55 CS2 * (1 mol CS2 / 76.1 g) * (1 mol CO2 / 1 mol CS2) * (44 g CO2 / 1 mol) = 0.90 g

4) The mass of NaNO3 is calculated:

m NaNO3 = 5 g NaNO2 * (1 mol NaNO2 / 69 g) * (2 mol NaNO3 / 2 mol NaNO2) * (85 g NaNO3 / 1 mol) = 6.16 g
