Answer #1

High fructose corn syrup is used as a sweetener mostly in sodas and fruit flavored drinks. HFCS contains fructose in higher amount, which is responsible for various life threatening diseases such as obesity, diabetes, Weight gain, heart problem metabolic syndrome and high glyceride levels and eventually it increases the risk of heart diseases. This sugar gets metabolized inside the liver where it gets converted into glycogen. Excess of fructose also increase the body cholesterol level which contribute in increase in lipid and fat level. The dietary guidelines for America recommend cutting back on added sugar, limiting it to no more than 10% of total daily calories i.e, 6 teaspoons for women and9 for men.

This HFCS is sweeter than glucose and cheaper than products made with cane sugar. And also this HFCS increased visceral adiposity and decreased insulin sensitivity in overweight / obese humans. HFCS metabolize to fat in your body and more rapidly than other sugars. It is supposed to that there is a link between the use of HFCS and increase in obesity for the last 30 years in United States of America. So the continuous consumption of high fructose corn syrup in every meal may not be such a good idea for her long term health.
