The sugary beverages causes tooth decay, tooth caries etc. It also increases the risk of increase in the blood sugar level. The extra tax on sugary beverages can not be imposed as there is already tax rule for the use of the sugar the company uses. The company needs to pay tax according to the content of sugar present in their products.
To prevent the consumption of sugary beverages government should prohibit marketing to young children but this will disturb the economic growth of that business as young children are the main consumers.
