11. Confined space entry procedures are critical, before any worker enters a permit- required confined space, a systyof procedures and precautions must be followed.

It is essential that supervisors standly workers know the confined space specifics. Correct equipment must also be on hand to help ensure workers safety.

The following procedure must be followed:

* Completion of a Risk Assessment

* Signage and Barricading

* Isolation of Hazards

* Cleaning, purging and Ventilation

* Atmosphere Testing & Monitoring

* Completion of an Entry permit

* The role of the Standby Person

* Rescue & Emergency Plan.

Confined space is defined as meeting all of the following criteria: is large enough for an employee to bodily enter and work and had limited ot restricted means of entry and exit, and not desiged fir continous occupancy.
