In very brief - The combination of social and demographic factor is called as socio-demographics.

The term "socio-demographic" refers to a group defined by its sociological and demographic characteristics.

In simple words, it looks at the life around individuals and characteristics such as age, gender,sexual orientation, race, religion, income, marital status, birth rate, death rate, average size of family, heritage, education, medical history. It is basically a grouping of people by those characteristics.

Socio-demographic groups are used for analyses in the social sciences. Or for marketing and medical studies.

For example:

Socio demographic studies help companies establish which groups/areas could be more inclined to buy their product.

Let say we have skin care products to sell, you will want to know what type of products is the population in the targeted area interested in. Like women with different age group have different skin care requirement.
