Solution:

Preferred stocks are different than common stocks. It gives fixed interest and doesn't give voting rights. Lets suppose the face value of a preferred stock is 100 and it gives 8% interest then it means that the preferred stockholder will get 8 per year.

Stockholders have voting rights and it means that they can vote in corporate policy, selection of board of directors etc.

Preferred stockholders don't have voting rights because they are paid fixed interest per year and also in case of liquidation of company they will get money before equity stockholder .
