The NSAIDs are non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs. It has a greater effect on inflammation, swelling and high grade fever. NSAIDs to reduce inflammation . Prostaglandin is responsible for swelling and inflammation. NSAIDs will block the action of prostaglandin, there by reducing inflammation.

The side effects of NSAIDs are peptic ulcer, GI bleeding, nausea, anorexia etc. So NSAIDs are advised to take in full stomach.
