AS The number of -CooH groups increased means polarity also be increased.

If the polarity of the solvent increases , that solvent can attract and hold the molecules tightly that means the adsorption power is maximum and so that Rf value will be maximum .

Thus Rf value is directly proportional to the polarity .

Therefore the order of polarity is

Citric acid > Tataric acid > Malic acid > Lactic acid
