She declined going to the emergency department after being assessed by the emergency technicians on site. Today, she reports significant pain and stiffness in her neck. On physical examination, noted pain and spasm over the left neck paraspinous muscles, and the patient reports pain when she is asked to do active range of motion of the cervical spine. What is the most likely cause of this neck pain?

Simple stiff neck
Aching neck
Cervical sprain
Cervical herniated disc

Answer ; Cervical sprain.

Reason ; The patient reports that she had a pain and spasm over the left neck paraspinous muscles. She had a pain when she undergo active range of motion and there is a stiffness over the neck. These all had been started after she met the vehicle accident, kind of injury. All these key symptoms best explain that patient had a pain because she had a sprain over the cervical region. Herniated disc will leads to have other symptoms which are not reported by the client.
